Social impact

Our projects have a strong community focus and therefore a positive social impact beyond reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The procjects provide a range of co-benefits such as equality, job creation, improved water quality, biodiversity conservation, wildlife management, reduced risk of flooding and increased resilience to the impacts of climate change.

Social impact is difficult to measure, as it is highly dependent on the design and sustainability of the project. For this reason, we focus on permanence and strong alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our assessment goes beyond carbon performance alone. We put each and every project through a thorough due diligence process, including a project risk analysis, to ensure that appropriate environmental and social safeguards are integrated into each project’s design.

We look at projects holistically, taking into account different stakeholders, optimising local benefits, strategic partnerships, and rigorously assessing and mitigating the risks inherent in carbon offset projects, incorporating safeguards at different project stages.

In addition, we place great emphasis on the strategic allocation of funds. Ensuring meaningful investment for all project stakeholders, including the local implementing partner, carbon asset developers and, most importantly, the communities.
