We implement nature-based solution (NBS), renewable energy, biogas/landfill gas, transport or technical removal projects.
Objectives
We are seeking proposals for opportunities to develop and purchase offsets from projects that result in high-quality avoidance, reduction or removal of carbon.
Our three development and procurement opportunities include:
EARLY- TO MID-STAGE
Development and financing of early or mid-stage projects capable of delivering first credits within the next three years.
PROJECT EXTENSIONS
Developing project extensions that can deliver initial credits within the next three years.
MID- TO LATE-STAGE
Purchasing offsets from mid- to late-stage projects.

Standards and methodologies
We prefer the Verified Carbon Standard and Gold Standard, but will consider project opportunities registered to other standards.

Project size
We prefer large-scale projects or large-grouped projects that generate 200.000 tonnes per year. However, we are open to considering projects that can generate at least 50.000 tonnes per year.

New projects concepts
We will also consider new project concepts with strong links to local social or environmental benefits or the promotion of new technologies.
Target areas
Volkswagen ClimatePartner aims to cover multiple jurisdictions globally, with a particular focus on Latin America, Africa and Asia. We are open to project submissions in the countries shown in teal.
