Volkswagen ClimatePartner GmbH: Joint venture for climate action started

Volkswagen ClimatePartner GmbH started operations on 1 March 2022. The company's aim is to develop internationally certified carbon offset projects with a focus on forest protection, land use and renewable energies.  
 
The joint venture was founded by Volkswagen Kraftwerk GmbH and ClimatePartner. By demonstrably reducing carbon emissions, its projects support the Volkswagen Group's climate action strategy. The group wants to become carbon neutral by 2050 through extensive measures to save, avoid, reduce and offset carbon emissions.
 
ClimatePartner will also use the carbon offset projects initiated in the joint venture to give its customers additional opportunities to offset residual carbon emissions which cannot be further reduced.
 
In addition to their effect on the climate, the projects will also support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
