Biodiversity

We all love biodiversity, and with good reason: This delicate web maintains balance and life. It supports everything on Earth that we need to survive.

Human activities are increasingly disrupting this ecosystem balance. Three-quarters of terrestrial environments and 66% of marine environments have been significantly altered.

The extensive use of land and water for agriculture, coupled with the effects of climate change, pose a serious threat to biodiversity worldwide.

But the amazing thing about biodiversity is its remarkable resilience. With reduced pressure, well-managed resources and time, ecosystems can adapt, demonstrating nature’s ability to bounce back.

Our projects address biodiversity loss by focusing on identifying and addressing threats, and engaging local communities and international governments to protect, conserve and regenerate diverse ecosystems.

By using resources sustainably, reducing pressures and allowing ecosystems to recover, our projects aim to protect and restore the web of biodiversity that is essential to supporting life on Earth.

Our community and biodiversity projects therefore include habitat conservation, the creation of wildlife corridors, monitoring programmes to assess the impact on local flora and fauna, education programmes for local stakeholders and communities, and the promotion of ecosystem balance through the planting of healthy and locally adapted mixed species. This holistic approach benefits all forms of life, promoting the harmonious coexistence of plants, insects, fish, birds, mammals, humans and their communities.
